Water harvesting techniques are the most critical skill that permaculture can share with the world of climate change. This workshop will teach the theory of water harvesting, show examples of various projects and give students the ability to design and implement their own water harvesting project.

The four week course will be Monday to Friday with Saturday and Sundays off. Classes start at 9 AM and may go as late as 9 PM. The first two weeks will teach theory and students will take tours of various water harvesting projects to see what works and what doesn’t work and why.

The second part of the course is a practicum. Sites in need of water harvesting in poor rural areas will be evaluated and designs made and implemented by the students. These sites are places that will impact families or whole villages with the ability to have water for farming and/or drinking. This real world impact affects both the village and the students.
